Global Engineering & Manufacturing Technology (GE&MT) is responsible for inventing, designing and delivering product and process technologies to make Goodyear's Business Strategies achievable. This department engineers and integrates new technologies to support new products and increased manufacturing capability. It also provides direct and timely support to plant production, engineering, maintenance and energy conservation. Your excellent written and verbal communication and multitasking skills will help you to work effectively with electrical, processing, and control system associates, as well as inter-departmental personnel and consultants, to design, develop, evaluate, install, and commission and support rubber processing equipment. Use your troubleshooting, decision making and organizational skills to implement processes and methods that meet internal and external customer requirements, translate process needs to design parameters and functional requirements, troubleshoot processes and assist in the resolution of problems. Candidates must be able to use an XP workstation and Microsoft Office products. Department Description: SPECIFIC JOB OPPORTUNITY: GE&MT - Mixing Team POSITION: Engineer DISCIPLINE: Mechanical Primary Purpose of the Position: A Mechanical Engineer is needed to work with the Rubber Mixing Team. The position requires a highly motivated, self-starting individual with the ability to make commitments and follow projects through to completion. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: * Work effectively with electrical, processing, and control logic associates as well as inter-departmental personnel and consultants to design, develop, evaluate, install, and commission and support rubber processing equipment. * Implement processes and methods that meet internal and external customer requirements. * Support evaluation of processes and methods and obtain results. * Translate process needs to design parameters and functional requirements. * Contribute to manufacture of quality products and processes. * Troubleshoot processes and assist in resolution of problems. * Manufacturing Plant Support. * Work with cross-functional teams to implement technology and manufacturing processes. * Communicate written/verbal information or data to other associates.

- Qualifications:
- Required-
- * BS or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- * Travel ability and willingness to travel (Domestic and/or International).
- * Computer skills, including use of XP workstation and Microsoft Office products * Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering concepts.
- Preferred-
- * 3-5 years experience or Intern/Co-op Experience with a Manufacturing Company * Familiarity with Mechanical Design tools, such as Catia, AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.
